Here Are Five Hotspots For Tacos On Long Island

Some like them simple with savory meat, salsa, onions, and cilantro, while others consider top tacos ones with fancy ingredients, like grilled tenderloin, chipotle mayo and pineapple salsa. However, you enjoy them here's five places to try tacos on Long Island.

 Cantina40 Bowden Square, Southampton: Nestled in an actual speakeasy from the days of Prohibition, The 400 Rabbits bar serves more than 100 different tequilas and a full menu. Taco choices include vegetable, with zucchini, squash, tomato, asparagus, cauliflower, black bean pico de gallo, cotija cheese, and avocado crema and shrimp, with corn, black bean pico de gallo, avocado crema.

A yelp reviewer wrote, "The lobster tacos, beef short rib tacos , grilled asparagus, and fried plantain did the trick. It's very convenient that Executive Chef Scott Kampf adds the extra wrap under the taco meat and first wrap. It makes it easier to slide (using fork) the desired portion of taco meat into the next wrap. So it may look like the order comes with two but you can construct 4 delicious tacos of your choosing."

Little Mexico, 280 Post Ave., Westbury: Small kitchen like its namesake serving steak, chicken fish, chorizo. Spanish sausage, pork on handmade round tortillas for a mere $3.25. There are 13 ways to get tacos here.

"Food was amazing!!! Definitely lives up to the reviews," John Pham-Ta wrote in a Google review. 

John D. of New York City posted this on yelp: "Little Mexico is always a solid option for Mexican in Long Island. I've never ordered anything that wasn't delicious."

Swell Taco, 135 Deer Park Ave, Babylon: "Chic décor, cozy decor. Best tacos outside of Mexico. Great vibe," posted Jose Segura on Facebook. 

Another Facebook post by Thomas Smith said, "Best tacos I ever ate. Great food." This menu boasts 11 different ways to get a taco, including fish tacos stuffed with Long Island favorite mahi-mahi. It comes with chop mix, cheddar cheese, chipotle cream sauce and salsa fresca on a soft flour tortilla.

Oak House Mexican Kitchen, 155 Tulip Ave., Floral Park: Sheryl K., Glen Oaks, N.Y., wrote she's "obsessed" with the place in her yelp post. 

"I'm a vegetarian so, often there aren't many options I can select from. May I say, we were absolutely blown away. Oak House has an entire vegetarian menu." 

What of the tacos? "The carnivorous fiancé daringly tried the impossible meat tacos and LOVED them," same reviewer said.

Taco choices include chipotle tinga de pollo, which is spicy pulled chicken, roasted pineapple salsa on lettuce and oak tacos, marinated grilled tenderloin, pico de gallo, crispy onions, sour cream and chipotle mayo drizzle, served on corn tortillas.

Taco Tuesdays, 147 Woodcleft Ave., Freeport: The Nautical Mile has plenty of seafood but a reviewer posted on yelp, "this place is a must stop place on the mile." 

Various taco choices here include steak that has been marinated then grilled carne asada, served on a soft corn tortilla with a cilantro and onion mix,  radish and lime. You select one of the homemade sauces, avocado, hot sauce, and grille pineapples.
